Legal Nurse Consultant & Expert Witness Services
Clinical insight for attorneys handling medical cases.
With more than 28 years as a registered nurse in intensive care, emergency, and perianesthesia nursing, plus years in nursing leadership, I help legal teams understand what happened in the medical record, whether the standard of care was met, and how to present it clearly.
About Jean Drake
A registered nurse since 1998, Jean is now putting over three decades of clinical experience to work for the legal community.
She began her career as an LPN in long-term care in 1995 and has been a registered nurse since 1998. In New Jersey, she cared for critically ill patients in both ICU and emergency room settings. From 2001 to 2005 she served as a Mobile Intensive Care Nurse and nationally certified paramedic, transporting critically ill adults and children between facilities for higher levels of care.
She spent nearly two decades at Lee Health in Fort Myers. There she was a critical care charge nurse in the ICU and helped launch the system's Transfer Center in 2008, which processed all transfers in and out of the health system. She then served as charge nurse leader and later became Clinical Supervisor of the Perianesthesia Department. Her leadership work honed her skills in chart review and analysis, audits, utilization management, and policy revision based on best practice.
Jean holds a Master of Science in Nursing Leadership from Nova Southeastern University and completed legal nurse consulting training with the Center for Legal Studies in conjunction with Florida Gulf Coast University. Her compassion for caring and keen eye for analysis have fueled her dedication to lifelong learning.
Jean is a member of the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants (AALNC), Orlando Chapter.
